Travel Destination : Tate Modern

The Tate Modern is a national museum of International modern art of Britain in London. It is a part of the group with Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool, Tate St lves, and Tate Online, which is now commonly known as the Tate. The galleries of Tate Modern are housed in the earlier Bankside Power Station. Sir Giles Gilbert Scott who was the architect of Battersea Power Station originally designed this station. The galleries was built into two different stages between the years 1947 and 1963.

Tate Museum is one of the best combinations of traditional arts and modern arts but previously in used to be a cramped and old fashioned museum. As the time changed, the authorities decided to split the giant collection of arts into two main categories, Modern arts and Classic arts. Not only the arts were divided, also the destinations were diverted. The Modern Tate Museum was founded in southern side of Thames and shifted all the modern art gallery ingredients to this newly constructed building. The Modern art building is given quite a different and unique touch as a multi-story indoor space is being created inside to install the sculptures. The interiors were also changed and the entire look of the Museum was flooded with flawed designs and spacious view that created huge impression in the minds of viewers. The old Museum is now known as Tate British and after getting huge response to the innovating changes of modern art building, the authorities decided to renovate the older museum also. The Northern side of Thames located old museum is having larger space than the newer ones and it is used in quite magnificent and mesmerizing ways by creating more of the gallery square-footage. The larger vacant space sounds to get wasted to the viewers.

The Londoners are having quite big and ideal impression of Tate British and are having immense proud for the same and so should be but one must say that the design and the utility of space that is being used in the Modern art Museum is far better than the Old ones. It can be definitely said as the failure of vision and creation. People are visiting the older museum more as it is having the traditional trademark but along with this, I would definitely recommend to visit the newer Museum and to get the feel of the most fantastic collection of Modern art and also th way of representing and displaying which I feel is more attractive. Book your tickets in advance so that you never have to get depressed later on.
