Tate Modern: Fascinating collection of modern arts

Tate Modern is a national museum of Britain in London and is of international modern art. The museum is grouped with Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool, Tate Online, and Tate St Lves. All of them together referred to as Tate. The Tate Modern was established in the year 2000 and is located in the former Bankside Power Station. The museum displays compilation of works dating from 1900 until now. All of those collections are of international modern and contemporary art.

The Tate Collection could be found displayed on levels 3 and 5 of the building, whereas, level 4 highlights large temporary exhibitions. Level 2 features a small exhibition space with work done by contemporary artists. The gallery could be found divided into four broad groups namely – History, Memory, Society – Nude, Action, Body – Landscape, Matter, Environment – and Still Life, Object, Real Life. By offering so much within a single attraction, Tate Modern is just not an art gallery, but is more than that.

In addition to this, the museum also highlights remarkable space of the Turbine Hall. The Turbine Hall has kept a series of installations that caught the complete imagination of people. The Hall covers an area of 3,400 square metres of floor space and is of five storeys tall. The Turbine Hall is used to exhibit the large specially commissioned works done contemporary artists. This exhibit held between the months of October and March per year.

Due to the entrance of Tate Modern, people in the area have witnessed huge impact, as Tate has worked hard to make good relations with the community of the Bankside. Besides the five different levels in Tate Modern, you can enjoy some other areas where small temporary exhibition spaces are situated. While exploring the inside areas of the gallery, do wander around the outside of the museum as well. You will find a riverboat pier outside, which is called as the Bankside Pier. The pier further connects to the Docklands and Greenwich through regular passenger boat services. Besides this, you can also go through the Tate to Tate service that links the Tate Modern with the Tate Britain.

Towards the western direction of Tate Modern, you will get to see the sleek stone and glass Ludgate House. With the charming beauty of the museum, make your vacation a memorable one forever.
